TO THE LIBERIAN COMMUNITY, WASHINGTON, D.C. METRO AREA

 

 

Greetings!  According to the By-Laws and Constitution of the Liberian Community Association (LCA) Washington, D.C. Metro Area, an Elections Commission has been appointed by outgoing President Boniface Satu and approved by the Board of Directors to conduct the organization’s elections of officers.  In accordance with that mandate please visit http://www.kendejah.com/lcadcelections2008.htm to find, review, or download all pertinent documents for the LCA Election Package, namely:

  • Elections Package Cover Letter
  • Election Timetable (please note that the location for the debate and elections have not been finalized)
  • Elections Guidelines
  • Declaration of Intent Form
  • Voters Registration List

The positions up for elections are President, Vice President, Secretary-General, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Parlimentarian, Chaplain, Regional/District Representative Maryland, Regional/District Representative Washington, D.C., Regional/District Representative Virginia, ULAA (Union of Liberian Associations in America) Representative I and ULAA Representative II.  Please review the contents of the package and if you are interested in serving the community in any of these official capacities, submit all necessary requirements on or before February 17, 2008.  Please deliver your requirements in the following manner:

1.  hand deliver or mail (certified with return receipt, postdated February 17, 2008) your package to Chairman Elections Commission, Isaac Vah Tukpah, Jr., 10915 Melwood Park Place, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772 ; 

2.  hand deliver to Angie Pratt or Comfort Bowier at Kendejah Restaurant & Lounge, 5828 Georgia Ave. NW,  Washington, DC 20011;

  

3.  contact the ECOM at 202-341-8930 or email itukpah@kendejah.com  to schedule an appointment for delivery of your requirements; or

 

4.  contact any Elections Commissioner (Messeh5@comcast.net; jedwinlloyd@yahoo.com; ibra_dukuly@yahoo.com) by email to arrange delivery of your requirements.

 

The Debate Format, Debate Program, Elections Protocol, and Elections Agenda will be posted at the above referenced site and publised to the public after all candidates have been qualified on February 24, 2008 but no later than March 2, 2008.
